A complete, low-cost security system built from the ground up, bringing vision, motion, gas sensing, and cloud alerting together in one device. The project involved detailed work in power management, sensor fusion, and real-time data handling.
ESP32-CAM for dual processing and vision (live streaming and local recording), with multi-layer sensing including PIR motion, gas leak, and external-sensor support.
A lithium battery and UPS circuit for all-day power, IR LEDs for 24/7 night vision, and dual-band alerts with WiFi push and SMS/call backup.
The Challenge
Building a complete security system at low cost that simultaneously provides live video, motion detection, gas-leak sensing, and reliable alerting, works at night, and stays on even during a power cut, all on the constrained ESP32-CAM hardware.
Our Approach
The ESP32-CAM was used for dual processing and vision (live streaming + local recording). Multi-layer sensing, PIR motion, gas leak, and external-sensor support, was implemented, a lithium battery with a UPS circuit provided all-day power, IR LEDs gave 24/7 night vision, and dual-band alerts with WiFi push plus SMS/call backup were ensured.
The Result
The result was a comprehensive, affordable security system that combines vision, motion, and gas sensing with reliable multi-channel alerting, continuing to operate even at night and during power cuts.
